Head of Design for Ørgreen Optics
Ørgreen Optics is looking for a creative, innovative and structural Head of Design, to manage and set the direction of Ørgreen Optics future collections.
About Ørgreen Optics
Ørgreen Optics is known for its signature style and innovative colour combinations. Founded in Copenhagen in 1997, their aim is to design strong and timeless frames for quality-conscious individuals all over the world. Ørgreen Optics is Danish design at its best. The values and standards set in the fifties and sixties by internationally acclaimed designers, which stood for innovation, quality, minimalism, and clean lines – are found in all their frames – yet with an Ørgreen twist, consisting of unique details and subtle touches, inspired by street culture, extreme sports and classic cars. The Ørgreen aesthetic is playful, dynamic and sometimes provocative, but never arrogant. It is about tugging at traditions, daring to challenge them, and setting a new agenda. Rather than build on fleeting trends, Ørgreen Optics unique style and lines are recognizable and will always remain consistent through their designs, which are timeless and seasonless, but never without history.
Despite their ongoing growth, Ørgreen Optics still possesses an entrepreneurial culture and is primarily driven by a strong passion for design and quality. You are a creative person, who may have a degree from a design school, or a similar educational background. However, this is not necessary, as long as you have a strong operational insight, and are a skilled designer with professional experience within design, planning and leadership. You have a solid experience with managing design projects, as well as managing and driving a design team and you have a deep and thorough understanding of, and experience with, creating, planning and assembling design collections years ahead. Furthermore, you have experience from working in an agile environment and experience with working alongside creative individuals. In addition, you possess a strategic approach, an ambitious mind-set and a deep understanding of product cycles.
On a personal level you know how to work independently, but more importantly, you know how to manage a team and driving the team towards a common goal. You have a pragmatic and structural approach to your work – always focusing on the end product, rather than on opinions and politics and you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You don’t mind working in an agile environment where priorities can change very quickly. Furthermore, you posses a very creative mind-set and are innovative by nature, but you also find value in scheduling and planning years ahead, which is necessary in the design and fashion industry. In addition, you enjoy following trends in international markets and know how to implement these effectively.
