Head of Sales for Hem
Hem is looking for a passionate and experienced Head of Sales to become an integral part of the company’s journey towards reaching future goals.
Hem is a Stockholm-based independent design brand, who primarily sell their modern high-quality products through the website hem.com. Their vision is to create a new generation of furniture, accessories and lighting. To achieve this goal, they hire the best and the brightest, and look for those who have a genuine passion for the design industry, but also wants to change it for the better. Thus, working in close collaboration with a broad variety of designers and renowned European manufacturers, Hem crafts iconic products for homes and workplaces all around the world.
Up until now, Hem has relied solely upon the quality of their brand and products to generate sales. In 2017 with this strategy alone, Hem experienced an impressive 150% growth in sales, and sold

- Thousands of other products, including sofas, chairs, lamps and accessories
Hem’s customers are interior designers, architects, businesses and consumers in 30 countries on 4 continents, and at the moment the US is their single largest market. However impressive, they have now reached a point in their growth journey where they need an ambitious and talented Head of Sales to further grow their business and help them become the next generation design brand.
As Hem’s new Head of Sales, you will be responsible for developing their sales organization. This includes creating and leading an in-house customer team, dedicated to create the best customer experience for their quality-seeking clients. Furthermore, you will be building and managing a team of Key Account Managers for key markets. Since Hem sells to an international market, this task will require an understand of global sales, and how to cater to different nationalities.
This position will include tasks such as but not limited to:
- Mapping and acting on opportunities in international markets
- Overseeing Hem’s flow of Sales Leads from digital channels
The Head of Sales will also be responsible for in collaboration with management team to define and implement Hem’s Sales Strategy. In your day-to-day activities, you will report directly to the CEO of Hem. During 2018, Hem is creating a proper Sales Team, to professionalize their sales effort, and to make the most of the increasing demand. The hiring of the right Head of Sales is the first step in this process, as this will be the person to set the goals and lead the efforts.
You are probably a few years into your sales career, but still very eager to make some real change. You have got a proven trackrecord of contract sales from design businesses. Since you will be defining and implementing strategies, it is of utmost importance that you have a strategic mindset and great experience is a huge plus. Leadership and management are something that comenatural to you, and are field you have worked with in previous positions. You are internationally oriented and now have to behave in the inter-cultural sales field.
You are attracted to a fast-paced environment, are solutions-oriented and you actively work towards continuous improvement. Furthermore, you show a lot of heart and are truly passionate about furniture and interior design, but most importantly, you are intrigued by this unique opportunity to roll up your sleeves and re-shape the industry and make an impact.
