Bang & Olufsen is looking for a senior and ambitious E-Commerce Director who will become responsible for developing, implementing and driving the company’s global e-commerce strategy, playing an important key role in realizing the future vision of Bang & Olufsen.

B&O is continuing to launch several new, innovative products, increasing brand partnering activities, and continue to strengthen their business model. To support the strategic global vision, we are looking for an experienced and highly ambitious E-Commerce Director, with the knowledge and experience of developing and implementing a novel global e-commerce platform.
As the new E-Commerce Director, we are looking for a candidate with an outstanding track record of developing and driving e-commerce platforms. You will be responsible for the tactical and operational development of the brand’s global e-commerce strategy and execution. Eventually, you will have the overall commercial responsibility for Bang & Olufsen’s online business in close cooperation with the respective BU heads, but initially one of the most important tasks, is to design, develop and shape the architecture for Bang & Olufsen’s new global E-Commerce platform. Subsequently, you will direct the implementation of the platform in a relative short span of time, to meet the ambitious business plans. As this is a project of high strategic importance, it is essential that you have tangible experience in the development phase and implementation of new e-commerce platforms on several ventures, knowing all the dynamics and pitfalls.
The E-Commerce Director will be in charge of all strategic and commercial considerations for Bang & Olufsen’s e-commerce as well as building and leading a strong Bang & Olufsen e-commerce team out of Copenhagen. It is important that you excel in commercial strategy and know how to develop and present a novel e-commerce strategy for
Bang & Olufsen as this is a key strategic investment for the global company.
The position is based at Bang & Olufsen’s offices in Lyngby, North of Copenhagen.
An ideal candidate holds a degree within computer science, engineering, merchandising, marketing, e-commerce, communication, or a related field with a digital touch, and has been in a similar position within e-commerce management for min. 6-7 years in an agency, consultancy or large B2C/B2B company. A potential candidate must be a strong strategic thinker, who is able to translate overall business strategy, and target consumer insights to a compelling, profitable executable e-commerce / online strategies. As the new E-commerce Director, you have international experience and know the nuances of driving e-commerce in the US, Europe and Apac.
You must be result oriented and determined to develop and implement a best-in-class e-commerce strategy, by keeping up with the latest trends and developments within the E-commerce sector to keep the site at the forefront, ahead of competition, and to develop a great brand. You are a team player and a good motivator, the position requires clear, positive, and motivating communication, and through this you will be able to engage the internal stakeholders.
It is absolutely essential that you have hands-on experience in the entire development phase of an e-commerce platform and have successfully implemented platforms before and are able to prove your track record.
Your personality is dominated by a good energy and a “can-do” attitude. You have a passion for the digital area and for creating unique web solutions to meet company and brand objectives. As E-Commerce Director you possess empathic leadership skills and have a healthy view and understanding of other people’s points of view. Lastly, you are fully proficient both oral and written English.
