We are looking for a motivated and driven Data Warehouse Engineer to join the Business Service Operations. The role is placed in Technology and reports directly to the Director of IT & Business Service Operations.
As Data Warehouse Engineer for Karnov Group you will work with data visualization and communication of complex relationships in an intuitive and easy-to-understand manner, and it is therefore key that you possess good visualization and analytical skills of large amounts of data as well as a curiosity to data origin and quality. It is important that you have a hands-on approach to follow the data in order to be able to fix/expand on systems producing data, and it is your responsibility to define, develop and implement data stability and comparability for created business reports and KPIs. As the new Data Warehouse Engineer you will be responsible for monitoring, operation and support of data visualization solutions, and work closely with education of in-house end-users within Technology, Finance & BI, Sales & Marketing, Content and HR. It is therefore key that you are skilled at developing relationships and facilitating cooperation in own departments as well as company-wide.
As Data Warehouse Engineer you have:
- Excellent SQL- and data modeling skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience within the area of SISS/SSAS and Stored Procedure
- Good experience in the design and architecture of Data Warehouse
- Since Karnov is using some home-produced / legacy systems it is also desirable that you would like to gather the knowledge of the underlying structure of such legacy systems.
- Documentation of all solutions and dataflows in production.
- The ability to keep the operational view and maintain and expand solutions.

- Tableau/Data Cubes (Cubes not fully used, but knowledge would be preferable)
- Karnov Group’s professional online platform
- CRM Salesforce
- SAP ERP
- Home-produced / legacy systems
You are a skilled developer with 3+ years of software programming experience and business intelligence experience. Preferable you are a graduate from a technical school, or you have a similar educational background. You have a solid experience with managing your own solo design projects, as well as working as part of a development unit. You possess a great personal drive and have an analytical, business driven, and structured approach to every task you face. You like to engage and execute in the daily operation and like to program and work with an analytical independence yourself. Furthermore, you have strong written and oral communication skills. Fluency in Danish and English is necessary – Swedish is a plus.
On a personal level you know how to work independently, but more importantly, you love being part of a team and working towards a common goal. You have a pragmatic approach to your work – always focusing on the end product, rather than on opinions and politics and you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves – getting the job done is more important than your own ego. You don’t mind working in an agile environment where priorities and tasks can change very quickly and you have a proactive approach and attitude towards the daily work. Overall you are good communicator and like working with stakeholders of all kinds, from all branches of a company, and do not mind speaking your mind.
