Data Strategy Director for GroupM
We are looking for an inspired, structured, and tech-proficient Data Strategy Director for GroupM, who will be responsible for the local and Nordic implementation of the Nordic data strategy, and as a part of the strategy implement the [m]report, the new global product of GroupM, which is considered one of the best dashboards for media agencies in the world.

GroupM in Denmark is a solid corporation, with a young and dynamic work environment, and offices in the center of Copenhagen. They are the biggest group of media agencies in Denmark, with Wavemaker, MediaCom, m/SIX and Mindshare and they additionally include agencies like Intelligence Group and Xaxis – and has a total of 450 employees. They are now looking for their new Data Strategy Director, who can get buy-in internally in the cooperation, and alignment across Danish and Nordic agencies.
As the new Data Strategy Director for GroupM, your key responsibility will be to implement the new global [m]report. It is a platform that is developed in order to ensure aligned data processing and outcome across all GroupM agencies, but it also provides the opportunity to adapt to the individual customer’s needs. You will be responsible for implementing GroupM’s Nordic data strategy and participate in their BICC (Business Intelligence Competence Center). You will also collaborate with their digital specialists and business technology team to deliver scalable data solutions to their clients (e.g. [m]report), and provide leadership and guidance to the management team on the strategy and direction for data in GroupM. Your tasks also include:
- Promoting the need for strong data standardization to key stakeholders.
- Holding regular meetings and conference calls with the Nordic data community.
- Leading the GroupM data governance function and ensuring that data governance principles are understood, maintained, and distributed to the wider business.
- Monitoring business compliance with GroupM’s data policies and holding regular reviews, to score and benchmark data quality across teams, clients, and agencies.
- Participating and leading new projects based on GroupM’s data assets.
Furthermore, you will get the opportunity of managing one of the largest change management data processes in Denmark, along with the 150 people working with data in GroupM, and you will have ownership of a global product.
As a person you are dynamic and self-motivated, with the ability to drive change.
We expect that you have over three years of relevant experience, and thereby have a great understanding of everything tech. You understand how to structure data, how to gain access to data and how to manage data profiles. You are an empathic team player, with good energy, strong communication skills, and the ability to get your colleagues and the GroupM agencies on board with the [m]report. You have experience in managing projects with many stakeholders, and you are structured, with high organizational and planning skills.
You have the ability to see initiatives through from conception to implementation, and we prefer that you have some experience from the media or marketing industry. You may be a consultant, or have a background in a media agency. Furthermore, we expect that you have been working with ad servers, such as Adfrom, Sizmek, DoubleClick, and other digital platforms, such as Adwords, Facebook, Google Analytics, etc.
