Corporate Communications Manager for Discovery Networks Denmark
Discovery Networks Denmark is looking for an ambitious and tactical Corporate Communications Manager with strong communications skills, who will become primarily responsible for the organization’s corporate communications.
Discovery Networks Denmark is the Danish Media Company behind channels as Kanal 5, 6eren, Canal 9, Eurosport and Discovery Channel along with the streaming services Dplay and Eurosport Player. Their portfolio of 13 channels have a commercial share of 20% in the Danish market, which makes Discovery Networks the second largest private TV group in Denmark. Across the platforms, consumers get a strong combination of action-packed entertainment and first-class sports such as matches with the national soccer team, the national football league and Premier League.
Discovery Networks Denmark has a Danish management group and is owned by Discovery Communications as a result of a series of acquisitions and launches dating back to the American launch of Discovery Channel in the US in 1985.
As Corporate Communications Manager, you will be managing and orchestrating Discovery’s internal and external communications in terms of creating a favourable image among the company’s stakeholders. Hence, you together with the PR Manager will be in charge of developing communication strategies for the company and its key brands by improving and implementing efficient corporate communication processes and activities to support the company’s strategic efforts.
Moreover, you will work as a team with PR Manager on PR and publicity around Discovery, which includes producing PR plans for key content and brands in line with content strategies along with local productions and sports rights. You will be assisting and closely working with the local CEO and VP Communications Nordic on areas as public affairs and corporate communication issues.
Corporate Communication Manager have the overall responsibility for corporate communication, while PR manager have the overall responsibility for PR and publicity. However, the two positions will work side by side as a team, and will be supporting each other on both areas.
In order to continue to create great value for Discovery’s customers, the position requires strong stakeholder insights and management skills. You will have significant responsibility for handling day to day communications issue

The Communications Manager will report directly to VP Communications Nordics, but also have a central role in advising the CEO Discovery Networks Denmark.
The ideal candidate comes with 3 – 5 years of education in communications along with 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience from similar jobs, PR agencies or as a journalist. You are skilled in project coordination and creative processes, and have proven ability to develop new and innovative ideas.
You are a hands on person, and you possess excellent communication skills – both written and oral. Thereto, you are native Danish speaking and fluent in English, and you communicate and disclose ideas and strategies effortless. Furthermore, you hold outstanding knowledge and understanding of new trends in the media industry and find it natural and easy to collaborate and maintain essential relationships with key stakeholders.
As a person, you are enthusiastic and structured with respect of tight deadlines. You are determined to develop and implement effective communication plans by keeping up with latest trends and developments within the media landscape to keep Discovery at the forefront. Additionally, you are ambitious and independent, but also an emphatic and motivating team player.
